How does the fax to email service work?
The fax to email service works by the system recognising when a fax is received and then automatically converting the fax into an image file (TIFF). This file is stored in a mailbox for later retrieval.
The way in which faxes are handled is very flexible. If you wish, you can be sent either a text message or an email informing you of its arrival. It can then be manually retrieved from the mailbox via our web interface. Alternatively, all faxes can be sent to a specified email address as soon as they are received.

line with a fax machine at the end of it. Faxes
are received and stored in your mailbox, or they
can be sent directly to your email address.
As the fax to email service can be integrated with all of our telephone lines, you can receive many faxes at the same time (unlike most fax machines), and you never have to worry about running out of paper or toner. You won’t need to scan them in for storage, and as the files are stored in a convenient TIFF format they can be printed out easily should this be necessary.
Faxes received in the UK can be forwarded anywhere in the world via the internet. You can even view your faxes via a web interface.
If you’re waiting for something urgent, the system can even contact you automatically by email or a text message to your mobile to let you know that it’s arrived.
Voice and fax calls can be recognized and treated differently, so the same number can be used for both. For example, using a single telephone number your customers could be diverted to a member of staff while faxes are diverted to a mailbox and stored.

How much does the fax to email service cost?
All service costs are per day and include a choice of a single phone number. Depending upon the number chosen to run your service, there may be a call cost to you, or revenue paid to you.
